Italian Bank Consolidates Communications for Enhanced Operational Efficiency

Overview Leading Italian bank, the UniCredit Group, was formed after a series of mergers in 1998. With different IT systems in place at each of the group's constituent companies, it faced significant infrastructure management challenges. To address this issue, and improve collaborative working among employees, UniCredit decided to consolidate its messaging infrastructure based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. This offers centralised administration for 40,000 users, greatly streamlining IT management overall and increasing operational efficiency. In addition, more than 1,000 selected employees have been connected wirelessly to the central server system. This enhances their productivity by providing access to calendars, e-mail, contacts, and other key business applications from any location, 24 hours a day.
