Electronics Firm Gains Competitive Advantage With Messaging and Collaboration Solution

Overview In the highly competitive business of designing electronic and mechatronic devices business, Austria-based Seidel Elektronik understands that to stay ahead of the competition its staff needs to stay connected to critical business information as well as customers worldwide. An aging e-mail system, using a Suse Linux Sendmail-based mail server with older Microsoft Outlook 2000 as the e-mail client application, wasn't keeping pace with staff requirements. Assisted by Artaker Computersysteme GmbH, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Seidel replaced the Linux system with a messaging and collaboration solution based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The new system costs less to administer, allows staff to collaborate and share communications more efficiently, and has mobile capabilities that provide access to information anytime, from anywhere Internet access is available.
