Performance Report: Oracle10g RAC on Linux - A Performance Comparison Study of Oracle Real Application Clusters Against FCP, NFS, and iSCSI
Overview Recently a series of tests were conducted by Network Appliance, Inc., to demonstrate the high level of performance that can be obtained from an Oracle10g RAC database using Network Appliance storage systems. Six different 3-node RAC configurations were tested using NFS, iSCSI and Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP), running on NetApp FAS980 storage systems. All tests were performed using RedHat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server 3.0 in support of the Oracle low-cost storage initiative. Test results clearly support Network Appliance storage systems as high performing, low-cost, feature-rich storage for Oracle10g RAC databases.
