Using Network Appliance Snapshot Technology With VMware ESX Server

Overview VMware ESX server is a virtual infrastructure software technology that enables server consolidation and management for Intel and AMD platforms. Network Appliance Snapshot technology allows instantaneous point-in-time copies to be made of virtual storage devices. This paper describes methodologies that may be utilized to make efficient use of Snapshot copies with virtual machines in a SAN ESX server environment.
