SAN and NAS Combine to Deliver a Comprehensive Storage Solution at the GRZ IT Center
Overview Founded in 1971, the GRZ IT Center in Linz has grown to become one of the largest and most successful IT systems houses in Austria. In order to facilitate business expansion and support their strategic objectives, GRZ IT Center had to overcome a number of challenges and limitations within their storage and server infrastructure. Hitachi Data Systems proposed a solution that combined SAN and NAS technologies based upon two Lightning 9970V storage systems. Brocade Silkworm fibre channel switches and a Hitachi Data Systems/NetApp Enterprise GF960 NAS Gateway. This approach integrated the flexibility and capability of a SAN with the functionality of a NAS.
