Tripura Power Department Switches Onto Efficiency With Advanced Energy Billing System
Overview The Tripura Department of Power is a government agency responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of power throughout the state of Tripura, India. The department wanted to rectify and consolidate incomplete customer records stored in a wide variety of non-secure filing systems (including paper-based records and a variety of incompatible computer systems) that were scattered across multiple locations. The challenge was to reverse inaccurate billing and auditing of power consumption that was resulting in significant undercharging. The company created the Energy Billing System, a secure Oracle Database platform for revenue management, with the ultimate aim of improving transparency of billing and collection processes.
