Companhia Hidreletrica do Sao Francisco Centralizes Information and Solves Problems in Real Time

Overview Companhia HidrelEtrica do Sao Francisco (CHESF), a subsidiary of Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras S/A, was created in 1945 with the mission of providing, producing, and selling electric power to the northeastern region of Brazil. The company wanted to centralize administration around a common platform in all branch offices and integrate all telecommunication fault alarms. The challenge was to accelerate report generation and facilitate system access for employees by developing new applications on the company's intranet. The company implemented Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Real Application Clusters 10g to serve as a single data management platform. The company consulted with Oracle Partner Sysdesign to achieve CHESF's main objectives of solving real time problems and unifying management systems.
