Family-Owned Arts and Crafts Supplier Puts Stamp of Approval on Supply Chain Technology

Overview Originally a small catalog retailer, Stampin' Up! is a leading supplier of rubber stamps and specialty arts and crafts materials. The company has grown rapidly in conjunction with the scrapbooking market, but the organization's technology infrastructure had trouble keeping pace with the growth. Accurately inputting orders, effectively managing inventory, and providing high-quality service for customers and sales associates became problematic. After facing problems with early Novell-based networking systems, Stampin' Up! migrated to the Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server software to better manage its growth, while a new order entry system created with Microsoft Visual Basic and using a SQL Server database provided Web-based sales capability.
