Tablet PC Solution Improves Students' Learning Outcomes at Kansas State University
Overview Kansas State University (K-State) has long been an innovative user of technology to improve learning both in the classroom and through distance education courses. In an effort to enhance its students' knowledge retention and note taking, K-State began piloting the Tegrity Notes solution based on the Tablet PC running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. The solution allows faculty to record lectures during class and students to take handwritten notes using the Tablet PC pen. The instructors' annotations, Microsoft Windows Media 9 Series encoded video, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 slides are automatically synchronized with students' notes and are available for review and selective playback at any time.
