Labeling Optical Media

Overview As collections of CD-Rs and DVD+/-R discs grow to such sizes that users are now removing them from their jewel cases and storing them in slip cases or even in spindle containers, it has become more important than ever to properly label the discs so that the right disc with the right information can be found quickly and easily. "Proper" labeling, however, can be done a number of ways. So can improper labeling. Improper labeling can cause immediate damage to a disc or the eventual loss of data over time, but there are all sorts of claims and counter claims about what should be considered proper and improper methods of labeling discs.
