Microsoft Case Study: Partners HealthCare
Overview Partners HealthCare System, Inc. is a group of teaching hospitals associated with Harvard Medical School. Its mission is to train physicians; foster research in the methods and tools of healthcare delivery; and provide healthcare to the local community and to patients anywhere who are in need of its unique expertise. Like all hospitals, Partners is under pressure to lower costs. To do this, and to improve the quality of care and expand its geographical reach, Partners is prescribing telemedicine. It is using Microsoft technology, including Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Microsoft Windows Media Technologies, and Microsoft NetMeeting, to make telemedicine an effective reality.
