Ann Arbor Used Microsoft BackOffice Server Applications and Tools to Create an Innovative Way to Access MLS
Overview The Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors encompasses most of Washtenaw County in Michigan, about an hour from downtown Detroit. The lifeblood of realtors is the Multiple Listings Service (MLS), which lists all the properties for sale in a region, from all the real estate companies in the area. Home Exposure developed its Internet Listing Service (ILS) to allow real estate boards to access and manage their MLS database over a private, password-protected intranet Web site, accessible through any standard Web browser and a simple Internet connection. The availability of the Microsoft Internet-development tools, and the way they integrate so easily with the BackOffice family of server applications, made one realize that one could move the business in this new direction.
