Global Contractor Increases Engineer Productivity by Improving Document Control

Overview TGE Gas Engineering (TGE) is an independent engineering, procurement, and construction contractor specifically engaged in the design and construction of natural gas plants. The technical documentation developed by engineers must comply with contract terms and conditions. However, sometimes documents do not follow the Document Control Department rules and procedures, which results in additional time and costs for TGE to rework the documents, impacting customer satisfaction. TGE was looking for tools to improve the quality of technical documentation and accelerate the document control process. TGE chose the 2007 Microsoft Office system, including the new Office XML format, and expects to reduce the number of rejected documents, decrease the document creation and approval cycle time, improve compliance, and decrease project and administration costs.
