Microsoft BackOffice Helping Citizens Gain Access to City Services

Overview New York City, in its efforts to use technology to reinvent government and bring City services closer to where citizens live and work, found at least one solution in information kiosks. A key vendor in the kiosk project, ObjectSoft Corp., used the Microsoft BackOffice Server Suite to create sophisticated functions that let people find information and gain access to basic City services. ObjectSoft developers say the ease-of-use and cost effectiveness of the BackOffice suite helped them create a powerful set of functions for the kiosks.
