Leibniz Computing Center Achieves 10x Faster Supercomputer Data Services With NetApp Solution

Overview The Leibniz Computing Center provides IT services for Munich universities and for the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The challenge was to implement a storage solution to deliver project file services in a 4,096-CPU SGI Altix 4700 supercomputing environment. Ensure highest data consistency and availability to support more than 120 technical and scientific High Performance Computing (HPC) projects. The solution to this was achieved by deploying a NetApp Data ONTAP GX system consisting of six nodes for high-performance file services and providing scalability and manageability with global namespace and flexible volume management.
