Overview Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is one of the world's leading hotel and leisure companies with approximately 850 properties in more than 95 countries. The challenge was to create an IT infrastructure with the scalability and flexibility to support current and future business needs; extend system management and monitoring capabilities; and reduce IT management costs while increasing performance and reliability. The company upgraded to Oracle 10g infrastructure, improving Starwood's ability to capture, confirm, and track thousands of daily online and phone reservations as well as support more than 20 million members of its guest loyalty program and improved database performance and reliability.
