Distance Education: Use of Podcasting

Overview Podcasting can be loosely defined as making audio recordings available for download onto portable music players so that it can be listened to when and where the listeners want principally during downtime such as commuting or exercising. Recently podcasting has moved into the distance education realm. Podcasting has become very attractive for some distance education programs because it provides flexible access to material and potentially could help students fit more learning time into busy schedules. This paper will take a look at podcasting overall, its educational uses, and legal issues which must be considered by schools.
