The Regional Cancer Center Sets the Stage for a Filmless Environment With a Network Appliance IP SAN Solution
Overview The Regional Cancer Center (TRCC) is one of the largest freestanding community cancer centers in the country. The cancer center recognized that achieving its ambitious goal would require completely rethinking its infrastructure. Eliminating film and paper records made 100% availability and a robust disaster recovery strategy essential. The most challenging constraint was financial. While TRCC has all of the information requirements of a large hospital, it maintains the staff and budget of a much smaller organization. They chose Network Appliance to support TRCC's critical business and clinical applications. TRCC's Microsoft Exchange e-mail users, SQL Server-based financial systems, and IMPAC EMR system are supported via iSCSI by a NetApp Fabric-Attached Storage (FAS) system.
