First Paperless Campus in Singapore Boosts Collaborative Learning, Saves Time and Costs

Overview Republic Polytechnic (RP) is Singapore's fifth polytechnic. RP has a student population growing from a current 5,600 to projected 13,000 by 2010. Although staff and students interact wirelessly through IP phones, Tablet PCs, email messaging and MSN Messenger Services for a student-centric learning environment, its growth demanded solutions for the following needs: adoption of higher technology to support innovation and entrepreneurial learning, development of student problem-solving skills through MSN Messenger Services, and moving to online examinations and test preparations. With IM playing such a crucial communication role, RP recently upgraded its server to Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005. It provided an enterprise level solution with better security and enhanced communication capabilities.
