Army Medical Center Speeds Development 15 Percent, Gains Agility, Reduces Cost
Overview Madigan Army Medical Center (AMC) surveys tens of thousands of people each year, both to improve the health of its patient population and to assess the medical status of troops being deployed to Iraq. But the paper-based and proprietary online solutions it used were costly, inflexible, and time-consuming. After participating in a Microsoft architecture design session and enlisting the help of solution partners Abacus Technology and CTA, Madigan AMC developed a Microsoft .NET - connected solution, Hermes that enables users to create surveys quickly and easily, without having to write programming code. The solution uses Web services and the Microsoft .NET Framework so that it can work with low-cost, general-purpose devices such as kiosks and Tablet PCs, and integrate with any back-end database or application.
