Overview International Data Corporation (IDC) projects that the aggregate grid computing market is expected to exceed $12 billion in revenue by 2007 across High-Performance Computing (HPC) technical markets and commercially viable enterprises. Growth is driven by the desire of enterprises to provide computing infrastructures that are more reliable, scalable, manageable and flexible. Grids, grid computing and grid architectures are expanding from academic, research, and scientific usage into the broader commercial needs of government, financial and commercial enterprises.
