VeriSign Shared Service Provider (SSP) Certification Practice Statement

Overview The US Government has identified the need for Shared Service Providers (SSP) to provide Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services for Federal employees, contractors and other affiliated individuals requiring PKI credentials for access to Federal systems. VeriSign is an approved SSP operating under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by the Federal PKI Policy Authority (PA). The VeriSign SSP Certificate Practices Statement (CPS) and associated Compliance Audit have been approved by the PA. The VeriSign SSP PKI is also certified as an approved service by the GSA FIPS 201 Evaluation Program. This VeriSign SSP CPS in conjunction with the X.509 Certificate Policy for the Common Policy Framework (CP) defines the practices that VeriSign will employ in issuing and managing certificates and in maintaining a certificate-based PKI for the SSP.
