Consolidation Beats a Full House

Overview MGM MIRAGE, one of the world's leading and most respected hotel and gaming companies, sought to reduce server proliferation by consolidating over 125 SQL Server databases while improving manageability and providing future expandability. MGM MIRAGE deployed two eight-processor Unisys ES7000 Aries Model 410 servers employing 1.3 GHz Intel Itanium 2 processors and running in a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Enterprise Edition, and SQL Server 2000 environment.
