Visible Breakthrough: Alpha Bank Lays the Foundation for a Real-Time Infrastructure
Overview Alpha Bank is the second largest bank in Greece and the biggest privately owned bank in the country. Part of the Alpha Bank Group, its international operations cover Cyprus, London and New York. The company wanted to support a mission-critical banking application while enhancing flexibility and business agility. Alpha Bank also wanted to implement the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution SAP R/3 to provide mission-critical support to core operations. Alpha Bank needed to lay the foundation of a real-time infrastructure to support current and future needs. As a solution Alpha Bank implemented SAP R/3 running on a Unisys ES7000 enterprise server and became one of the first in its field to use it.
