Konica Minolta Boosts Performance by More Than 50 Percent With Consolidated ERP Hardware Infrastructure

Overview Based in Hannover, Germany, and parented by Konica Minolta Business Technologies in Japan, the company specialises in document management and printing technologies. The company was no longer satisfied with the performance of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP implementation. As the business grew, and its customers' demands increased, the company needed a supporting hardware platform that could maximise the benefits of SAP R/3. Its previous hardware setup no longer met its requirements as the technology was outdated and likely to hinder growth going forward. To remedy the situation, the company opted to consolidate its SAP environment onto a Microsoft Windows and Unisys ES7000 server platform. Unisys managed the implementation, which comprises SAP R/3 4.5B running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
