Digital Content Provider Creates Innovative Product Using Windows Media Services and .NET Technology
Overview Butterfly Communications Global (BCG) was founded by a team of U.S. technology executives to provide Internet-based digital content and services to hotels, rural towns, and other customers in the Caribbean. But it was hampered by a lack of technology to reliably deliver TV broadcasts without having a perfectly functioning network to deliver content to each Set-Top Box (STB). With help from Exertus Partners, BCG adopted Windows Media Services 9 Series - part of the Windows Server 2003 operating system - and created a business solution to transmit digital television. BCG built a Web portal application designed with Microsoft .NET software that delivers management features and that is supported by a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database that manages digital content.
