iBasis Reduces Data Warehouse Load Times, Eliminates Bottlenecks
Overview As one of the world's largest providers for international telecommunications traffic, iBasis processes approximately 150 million transactions each day. For a number of years, iBasis operated a data warehouse running on the same RDBMS it used for transaction applications. However, this data warehouse became obsolete and could not respond effectively to the growing needs of management, sales, and operational centers for accurate and timely data in a real-time mode. iBasis selected the Netezza Performance Server data warehouse appliance for its superior capabilities and performance-cost ratio. Oracle Data Integrator (formerly known as Sunopsis) was then selected as the Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) solution that would be used to load the data to the Netezza Performance Server.
