Portal Muenchen Betriebs-GmbH & Co. KG Implements a Total Portal Solution

Overview Portal Muenchen Betriebs-GmbH & Co. KG is a nonprofit organization initiated by the City Council of Munich in 2002 to develop and maintain www.muenchen.de. The Web portal was based on older technology and needed a major redesign to allow it to offer new functions and reach out to new users. The redesign was to focus on two key areas, interactive e-government functions and community information for citizens and increased functionality for small and medium enterprises. IBM Business Consulting Services developed the solution to meet all requirements then implemented it, based on IBM xSeries servers running Linux and WebSphere software. The new site is hosted by IBM Global Services - e-business Hosting Services.
