Housing Development Board (HDB) Houses Linux on IBM

Overview The Housing & Development Board (HDB) is Singapore's public housing authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development. HDB needed to consolidate its IT infrastructure and lower its total cost of ownership (TCO). HDB sought an open-standards-based solution to maximize manageability, scalability, security and availability of key operation systems. Adding Linux to its operating environment generated a variety of key efficiencies for HDB, enabling the organisation to expand its system capabilities without increasing its IT budget.
