Linux Kernel Hotplug CPU Support
Overview During the 2.5 development series, many people collaborated on the infrastructure to add (easy) and remove (hard) CPUs under Linux. Linux is growing steadily in the mission critical data-center type installations. Such installations require Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features. Modern processor architectures are providing advanced error correction and detection techniques. CPU hotplug provides a way to realize these features in mission critical applications. CPU hotplug feature adds the following ability to Linux to compete in the high end applications.
