Building a School for the Future

Overview A collective educational organisation, OGV&O operates three schools in the eastern Netherlands town of Venlo, employing 750 staff and teaching 5800 students. In order to provide its students with the best facilities, and to reduce management costs, the organisation wanted to consolidate its existing 17 buildings into three new campuses, one for each school. As part of this aim, OGV&O wished to enable management of all three of its schools' PCs from a central location in Venlo to drive down TCO and ensure maximum uptime for pupils. After an in-depth consultation with Capgemini, OGV&O opted to install a fleet of Intel technology-based Viglen PCs. The PCs in the Technodome run Microsoft Windows XP Pro and VMware Player.
