Getronics Workspace Services and PCs With Intel vPro Technology
Overview The primary service challenge is that IT service providers cannot necessarily manage, maintain, or update PCs if system power is off or the OS is not working properly. Instead, many typical IT tasks must currently be performed during business hours, when PCs are powered on and available for inventory, software upgrades, OS migrations, and other service tasks. For other systems, technicians must make a deskside visit to power PCs on, repair a failed OS, diagnose hardware problems, and update security software. This results in interruptions to users and increased service costs. There is a critical need for tools that improve, streamline, and help automate more remote services. Getronics is working with Intel to evaluate the new remote manageability and security capabilities of Intel vPro technology.
