Henkel Improves Facilities Mapping by Integrating Asset Management and Geographic Data

Overview Henkel, a Fortune Global 500 company, operates in three strategic business areas - Home Care, Personal Care, and Adhesives, Sealants and Surface Treatment. The company wanted to reduce the time employees spend manually combining spatial and alphanumeric data from different databases to produce facilities maps; which are used to maintain its Dusseldorf facilities. The challenge was to increase the speed and flexibility that themed maps can be produced to help with particular jobs and reduce the errors and wasted time associated with managing and maintaining duplicate asset databases. Henkel eliminated unnecessary data re-entry by standardizing on one GIS system based on Autodesk running on a single instance of Oracle Database with Oracle Spatial option to handle map-based data alongside asset data.
