Universiti Teknologi MARA Finds Intel vPro Technology a Valuable Tool Against Virus Outbreaks

Overview Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is Malaysia's premier institution of higher learning with campuses across the country, and has over 12,000 PCs at its main campus alone. With limited IT resources and thousands of PCs to manage, UiTM needed a solution to ensure compliance with IT system and security policies. Depending on end users to install security patches or anti-virus updates was not a secure method of ensuring compliance. UiTM decided to evaluate the remote management capabilities of Intel vPro technology as a possible solution. Intel vPro technology provides down-the-wire proactive security and manageability capabilities even for PCs whose power is turned off or whose operating system has crashed.
