New Hardware Environment Ensures German Credit Company Cuts IT Costs by 30 Percent
Overview PLUS Finanzservice is a subsidiary of the Swedish furniture company IKEA and the Scandinavian finance group IKANO. PLUS Finanzservice wanted to build on the scalability of its existing environment for credit card management and reduce IT operating costs. PLUS Finanzservice took Dell's advice and created a test environment for the card management system that included four Dell PowerEdge 2650 servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AS. On top of this platform, it implemented an Oracle 9i Real Application Clusters (RAC) database solution.
