Warren Consolidated Schools Replaces Its District-Wide Network - And Achieves Extreme Results
Overview Warren Consolidated Schools (WCS) serves 15,000 students in the cities of Troy, Sterling Heights and Warren, Michigan. When the district's network hubs neared their end of life, WCS saw an opportunity to upgrade the network with a robust infrastructure capable of handling the bandwidth and applications needed to deliver cutting-edge education tools. As a solution the WCS replaced all core switches, which reside in the administrative building, and half the edge switches in the schools, with Extreme Networks BlackDiamond, Alpine and Summit switches. Based on Gigabit Ethernet, Extreme Networks' solution delivers a simplified approach to network management and administration, including the ability to perform either web-based or command line administration.
