Performance Characterization of Microsoft ISA Server 2004 Running on HP ProLiant Servers

Overview HP conducted performance characterization testing on Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 Standard Edition to measure and document the throughput of ISA Server on various HP hardware platforms. HP measured this throughput while simulating from 1-1000 web users simultaneously accessing a Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 web clusters located behind an ISA firewall and caching server. This paper documents the technical details on how this testing was conducted and the associated test results in the form of performance graphs that allow the reader to see how ISA performed on different HP hardware platforms in four different ISA configurations.
