The HP StorageWorks Continuous Information Capture for Exchange Solution - Improving Data Protection and Recovery in a Microsoft Exchange Server Environment

Overview Conventional data protection technologies are in many cases no longer adequate to meet evolving recovery requirements in enterprise Microsoft Exchange Server environments. Issues with existing backup and restore methods include backup windows, data loss on recovery and lengthy recovery times. The HP StorageWorks Continuous Information Capture (HP CIC) for Exchange solution is a scalable, out-of-band, Continuous Data Protection (CDP) appliance built on commodity hardware that can remove the need for backup windows, minimize data loss on recovery, and reduce recovery time for any Exchange servers attached to a Fibre Channel (FC) Storage Array Network (SAN). Host-based data capture components, called data taps, manage the data capture process for all relevant servers.
