An Introduction to SOA and the HP NonStop Server Environment
Overview SOA is the latest three-letter acronym making the rounds of the IT community. The marketing literature for all major software vendors seems to evangelize the virtues of SOA, with visions of greater business agility and IT nirvana. Industry conferences and trade journals are replete with references to SOA, and industry consultants espouse the benefits of SOA. So, what exactly is SOA and why should one care about it? This paper provides introductory information about the basic business rationale, concepts, and principles of the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), as well as an overview of how SOA principles and technologies can be applied to and are supported for applications running in the HP NonStop server environment.
