KISTI Increases Performance With Intel Xeon Processor-Based HPC Cluster
Overview The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) is a government-funded institute that plays a leading role in supporting innovative and cutting-edge research in a variety of disciplines; these range from manufacturing, engineering, and medicine to aerospace, astrophysics, chemistry and life sciences. KISTI's existing High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster was straining to cope with the increasing demand for more computing power for advanced research. The institute wanted to contain costs in an HPC solution that must meet KISTI's performance requirements within the research and development budget. With its new HPC cluster based on Intel architecture, KISTI is able to accelerate research at lower costs.
