Sybase Case Study: Iroquois Gas

Overview Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company (Iroquois), which operates a 375-mile long interstate mainline natural gas pipeline, needed a solution that would help it reduce costs, simplify maintenance and boost performance. Using Sybase technology, Iroquois migrated its existing ordering application to Linux and moved from stable to disaster-proof. Linux had emerged as a viable, state-of-the-art technology that continued to gain momentum. As far as system administration was concerned, Linux is Unix and far easier to maintain than VMS.
