Wide Area Networks (WAN) White Papers

Implementing RDM in a Wide Area Network

Overview Remote Deployment Manager (RDM) is an effective tool for deployment in a Wide Area Network (WAN). This environment was a key design point for RDM. The idea is to initiate deployment work from the office, even though the target systems may be in several remote locations (e.g., in different cities). This paper explains how to install and use IBM RDM in a WAN. It applies to RDM 4.20, and later releases. The paper is intended to help skilled RDM administrators to create deployment procedures and to understand the concepts involved.
