Intel Platforms Running Open Source Software Help Indian Life Insurance Company Achieve More With Less

Overview As one of the fastest-growing private life insurance companies in India with a trained sales force of more than 100,000 agents, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited (Bajaj Allianz) operates thousands of desktop and notebook PCs. The company realized that continuing to deploy proprietary operating systems and software was becoming costly. Expenses escalated with regular upgrades, security issues and ongoing maintenance that required helpdesk calls and desk-side visits. Bajaj Allianz needed better control over its information technology (IT) system and turned to the open source Linux Operating System (OS) for its Intel processor-based desktop and notebook PCs.
