Novell Case Study: RSPCA

Overview Founded in 1824 in London, UK, the RSPCA was the first national animal protection society. As the RSPCA's operations grew, the organisation's relatively small IT team was increasingly stretched by the demands of users at remote sites. The organisation wanted to remove the backup functionality from the local sites, thereby freeing non-technical staff from the responsibility and reducing the potential for loss of data. The RSPCA implemented Novell Open Enterprise Server and Novell ZENworks to simplify backup and software update processes for its various sites. Remote management and automation save IT staff time, and free other employees from technical roles, while the Novell Linux environment provides a reliable, secure platform for 24/7 operations.
