The Leibniz Rechenzentrum (Leibniz Computing Centre) operates a supercomputer for scientific research, based on the SGI Altix 4700 server platform and running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. The system holds world records for its 17TB globally accessible memory and 4.35TB/s memory bandwidth (Stream Benchmark), and was proven to run the world's largest single system image, running SUSE Linux Enterprise on 1,024 processors.
