On the Capacity of Clipped OFDM Channels

Overview This paper provides a new approach to analyzing the capacity of the clipped OFDM channel. The analysis shows that existing clipping models lead to drastically underestimated capacity computations. The approach eschews the so-called clipping noise and treats the clipper more analytically. The paper also introduce and analyze the clipping ratio threshold, above which error-free communication is guaranteed in an ideal clipped OFDM channel. The results are extended to the clipped OFDM channel with AWGN.
