Novell Case Study: Sal. Oppenheim

Overview Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, Sal. Oppenheim is the largest independent private bank in Europe. To maintain its competitive position in financial trading, the company needed to build a new, more sophisticated infrastructure. The company also wanted to introduce a new range of products and needed an underlying architecture to support increasingly complex calculations and pricing algorithms. As a solution to this the company implemented an IBM Grid solution running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to give its financial team's greater functionality and flexibility. The new solution reduces compute time from hours to minutes, and allows the company to quickly introduce new and complex financial products.
