Omas Pens a New Chapter With IBM

Overview Founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni, Omas S. r. l. is a manufacturer of luxury writing equipment, owned since 2000 by the LVMH Group. The company wanted to modernise core accounting and business management systems to match business growth with new functionality and speed of operation; extend to Web; ensure high levels of stability and availability. To solve this the company replaced IBM AS/400 with new IBM eServer iSeries 520 Express Edition system, based on the advanced IBM POWER5 microprocessor architecture; upgraded to version 2 of ACG ERP software.
