Enterprise SOA Enables Shared Services Center to Increase Process Efficiency and Flexibility, and Forge a Foundation for Strong Growth

Overview The SAP Asia Pacific Shared Services Center (SSC) was founded in 2003 to consolidate the administration and transactional processing of 13 Asia-Pacific SAP subsidiaries at the Singapore headquarters of SAP Asia Pte. Ltd. The company wanted to optimize business processes across 13 Asia-Pacific countries that leverage the Singapore-based SAP shared services center and eliminate duplication, inefficiency, unnecessary paper-based processes, and barriers to sales force mobility. They also wanted to develop automated capabilities that lay a strong foundation for expansion and revenue growth in the region. The solution to this was achieved by implementing SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP NetWeaver Application Server, and SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) components and Web Dynpro development environment.
