Overview First Command Financial Planning offers financial advice, banking, insurance, and brokerage services to more than 300,000 active and retired U.S. military professionals and their families. The company wanted to create a Web portal to give military members secure access to all of their financial services from banking to brokerage accounts. In addition, the company wanted to give its agents more online tools to provide higher-quality service for customers. The company deployed Sonic Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) to integrate financial planning applications and launch new Web services, such as personalized financial portals for customers. To connect to customers - no matter where they are stationed - the company deployed a service-oriented architecture to support its Web services.
